The Weaver’s Work
Use your VR goggles or scan around with your mouse to have an immersive experience in a weaver’s workshop in the living museum of Nazareth Village. Weaving was a traditional craft in the homes of Israelites during both Old and New Testament periods. The Virtuous Woman of Proverbs 31 is known for her skill and industriousness, including the use of the weaver’s distaff and spindle (Prov 31:19). Job reflects a common Wisdom perspective on the brevity of life when he says that his days are “swifter than a weaver’s shuttle, and it comes to an end without hope” (Job 7:6, NIV).
