Ministry is a rewarding but demanding calling that requires periodic rest and renewal. That’s the theme of Artos Academy’s newest course Planning Your Ministry Sabbatical.
Sean Nemecek, Executive Director of PIR Ministries, provides a step-by-step process for identifying areas of your life and ministry that are in need of renewal and for planning a sabbatical that will address those areas. “A sabbatical should be a time of rest and reflection in God’s presence for the purpose of recovering from past ministry wounds, recharging for future ministry, and reimagining sustainable rhythms of rest and work.”
In this course you will learn the biblical foundations for sabbatical, explore a valuable framework for envisioning your ideal sabbatical, and gain practical tools for establishing healthy rhythms for work and rest. “Think of your work as running a marathon. Your rest in God is the breath that empowers your running stride. If you fail to breathe, you can’t run for long. If you only breathe when absolutely necessary, you won’t run well. However, if you focus on your breathing in healthy, sustainable rhythms you will go far.”
