As described, the basic idea is the paragraph. The focus of the passage is the primary idea. Teachers are tasked with preaching/teaching the Word. I think as you stray from the main idea, you wade into eisegesis which will be your own ideas rather than original meaning and application.

The images or stories help people to identify or relate to a point in a message. As a speaker, the images or stories should align as closely as possible to your points. These are valuable to help clarify your points and communicate the message.

As described in the video, the three help in communication with the Lord and with fellow believers. Of course, prayer is speaking with God and the Bible explains to us who He is. We grow in fellowship with other believers by gathering to study the Scripture and to either help others or be helped by others, to grow in the faith.
